Acorn Lane Farm at Boone Gardiner - Petting Zoo
Tours April – October, Wednesday-Saturday 9am – 5pm. Cost: $5 per person general self-guided admission, $10 guided with a craft. Group tours are also available.
Come see our unique petting zoo in greenhouses and enjoy the Garden Center! Kids will love to feed goats, pot-bellied pigs, fish, alpacas, Arabian and miniature donkeys, climb Wood Chip Mountain, see the garden train exhibit, and tour our butterfly habitat with native Kentucky plants! Come watch baby goats play in early spring and later in the summer come back to learn how to milk a goat! We also do birthday parties!
Aurora Acres Gypsy Vanner Horses & Equestrian Ctr
A one hour tour of Aurora Acres includes a better understanding of one of the worlds most colorful, least understood societies and the horses they envisioned soon after World War II. Dawn Butera Lott conducts the tour and introduces you to some of America's first and most famous Gypsy Vanner Horses.

Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve
Creasey is a public nature preserve whose hours are sun-up to sundown. Cost: No cost. Office hours: Mon. – Fri. 8:30am – 4:30pm.
Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve is a 170-acre scenic and popular destination. With 9 miles of wooded trails, 4 year-round springs, creeks and ponds, picnic pavilions and native grasslands, there are many recreational opportunities for the entire family. There is a natural history museum featuring a bird blind and a toddler’s magical forest play area. The 207-year-old historic Mahan Manor and Spring House are available for tours.
Always family-friendly, visitors may enjoy the City of Goshen playground, open fields, gazebos and the county library, too! Beautiful gardens feature native woodland wildflowers, ferns, and creeks and waterfalls.
Diamond Family Farm
We are a 16 acre farm in La Grange, Kentucky. We bought our land with the purpose of being self-sufficient and enjoying some of our outdoor hobbies. We pride ourselves on being grass fed and pasture raised. Our animals are not given hormones, steroids or preventative antibiotics. Our pastures are grown without pesticides and we use tight rotation to provide healthy grass to our animals. We currently run our farm without the use of expensive equipment or chute systems. We raise lamb, beef, turkey and chicken.
Educational Homesteading Tour
Our tour is of special interest for those who need more information on how to do homesteading on a small amount of land. The homesteading process is very rewarding and a cornerstone of self-sufficiency. You will learn on our tour the basics of raising grass fed animals, fodder feeding (indoor hydroponic sprouts), family cow maintenance and milking, raising chickens for meat and eggs, and an intro to the care of sheep.
Emily Diamond – owner/operator has a BS in Animal Science Veterinary Technology and has been nationally certified with many years of veterinary experience and animal husbandry. She can answer questions regarding health care, land management and various methods of animal maintenance.
Our tours are by appointment only. Our tour price is $5-7 per person. We can accommodate parties up to 15 people. This is a walking tour and appropriate shoes are recommended. Dropseed Native Plant Nursery
Dropseed Native Plant Nursery produces native plants and seed for restoration and home landscaping projects. Visitors can tour our gardens, greenhouses, and seed production plots. Field 51 Produce shares the same property, producing vegetables, chickens and sheep. Visits to the site can also include a tour of the farming activities.
Harvest Moon Dairy Farm
Tours by Appointment Only. Tour prices: $6 per person. We provide tours for people of all ages and would love to show you and your group how we operate our farm.
At Harvest Moon Farm & Dairy, we love what we do on the farm. We enjoy sharing our farm life and the experiences of a working dairy farm with our visitors. Tours are educational and can offer the hands on experiences, of making corn meal to milking and feeding our animals.
We also offer tours of the rest of our farm showing how we grow, harvest, and store crops, use conservation practices to protect the environment, or any farm activity in season at the time.. We can customize your tour to the things you want to see. Come at milking time and get a real taste of farm life. Feed the cows, maybe even milk one or bottle feed the baby calves.
We offer outdoor walking tours (weather permitting) and can also do tours on our tractor pulled wagons.

Hemmer Hill Sheep Farm
Tours by Appointment Only. All ages are welcome. Cost: $5-$10 per person depending on the season.
We are a small working farm, with diverse agriculture. We raise St. Croix Hair Sheep for breeding and food. St. Croix sheep are from the Virgin Islands and are one of the few parasite resistant breeds in the US. Our flock is pure bred and registered. We also raise Shiitake mushrooms on oak logs, in addition to wine cap and oyster mushrooms. We sell fresh and dehydrated mushrooms at farmers markets and we operate a CSA (EpiCurious) which specializes in gourmet vegetables.
During a tour in the spring, one might observe births and bottle feed a baby lamb. In harvest season, visitors can help with harvesting garlic, mushrooms and vegetables. We also own a special donkey, Churchill, who loves visitors of all ages. He spent his early days in a petting zoo, now he is a guard animal for our sheep.

Meadowview Farm & Natural Habitat Gardens
Tour is By Appointment Only. Cost: $5 per person. Group tours and presentations available for a predetermined charge. CSA full and half shares are now available in addition to a la carte ordering.
Tour a sustainable farm that specializes in Kentucky native plants, heirloom corn and vegetables, and wild crafted home décor. You will be introduced to tall grass meadow establishment, management, native plant use as predator habitat, habitat health, species diversification, wildlife management, high and low tunnel season extending production methods.
The property consists of 5.124 acres, 2.5 are wooded with the remaining 2.5 used in vegetable, fruit and nursery stock production. Since 2003 the property has been intensively managed for invasive plant identification and removal, continual review of meadow species diversification, introduction of Bluegrass Region specific Kentucky native trees, shrubs, flowers and grasses, wildlife use and overall habitat health with the identification of bird, butterfly and insect species.
Spruce Point Farm
Tours for persons with disabilities and their caregivers only. Tour is By Appointment Only.
Spruce Point Farm is home to Exceptional Equitation, a nonprofit therapeutic riding program. The interactive tours for persons with disabilities includes grooming and learning about horses, feeding chickens, petting dogs and cats, gathering eggs, and seeing alpacas. Exploring the 15 acre farm gives participants an opportunity to observe the natural environment. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the country!
Windy Meadows Horse Farm
Come meet the characters from the owner’s first children’s book, “The Tails of Windy Meadows” and see a working horse farm through the eyes of its animals! “The Tails of Windy Meadows” is the first children's book by Ellie Troutman.
Horse lovers of all ages will enjoy the stories told by the horse stars of Matem, Charlie, Bubba, Twist and corgi Ernie. For more information visit www.TheTailsOfWindyMeadows.com. This tour is fabulous because it allows you the opportunity to see different breeds of horses on one farm and this farm is located in the equine community of L’Esprit, a community of commercial horse farms.
The farm owner, Ellie Troutman, also owns 3 shops on historic Main Street, including The Treasured Child toy store, Absolutely Fabulous Antiques, and the 1887 Corner Store.

Yew Dell Botanical Gardens
Hours: 10am – 4pm. General Admission (on your own): $7 adults, $5 seniors over 55, children under 12 are free. Call (502) 241-4788 for group rates and tours. Tour guides can usually be arranged for groups of 10 or more. Please provide at least a 2-week lead time for scheduling of tour guides.

42 Fleur De Lis Mini-Trial Series
The 42 Fleur De Lis Mini-Trial Series (42FDL) is a collection of (1) day (3) phased events; Dressage, Stadium and Cross Country; called a Mini Horse Trial. Dedicated facility owners have come together to create a series of Mini Horse Trials where everyone can enjoy the sport of eventing! No matter you or your horse’s age or level, with the 42 Fleur De Lis Mini-Trial Series you can experience the sport of Eventing in a supportive, safe, fun and relaxed atmosphere.
At the end of the Mini-Horse Trial Series, the 42 Fleur De Lis hosts a year end banquet and awards ceremony to celebrate the participant’s hard work and accomplishments throughout the season!
Circle Bar C Ranch
Circle Bar C Ranch is the area’s best example of a professional equine facility and operational horse ranch. The owners of Circle Bar C Ranch have spent more than 20 years designing and building this premier training and boarding facility and spared no expense when it came to the horses safety and quality of life. Every minute detail has been considered and addressed to allow horse owners peace of mind when it comes to the care of their animals.
The facility at Circle Bar C Ranch is second to none in the area. With over 100 acres of pasture for horses to graze to 50+ miles of trails to ride and enjoy. The ranch includes 12′ x 12′ stalls and individual paddocks plus 3 hot and cold wash racks. Nelson automatic feeders and waterers and therapeutic flooring in the stalls help to care for the animals as well as multiple daily checks by the ranches professional staff.
The Benton Jackson Arena provides over 55,000 sq. ft. of premium quality Kiser footing to ensure the safety of the animals as well as the participants. This high-tech arena incorporates an announcer’s booth, attached holding stalls and an advanced digital camera system to catch the action! This is one of the best indoor arenas in Kentucky and it is available for shows, competitions, clinics and open arena riding.
